Giving a homemade gift to a parent is enjoyable for all children. They anxiously anticipate their parent’s response and judgment. And although almost anything a kid gives their parent is treasured, this 9-year-old boy’s gift was outstanding.

His father’s response made all the time and worked he put into making the gift worthwhile.

Because of something endearing, he did, a 9-year-old Massachusetts child is a sensation online. The video of Aaron Gouveia’s son giving him an extremely thoughtful gift was first uploaded by Aaron.

Gouveia uploaded the film to his @daddyfiles TikTok account, and within three days, it had received over 13 million views. The three-time father was ecstatic to get such a wonderful gift from his kid.

In an interview, Gouveia described how his son had been taking sewing lessons for over a year after being encouraged to take up the pastime by his great-aunt Val.

“His great-aunt is [an] unbelievable seamstress. She sews everything. She’s been making us gifts our whole life, and he thought that was so cool,” Gouveia said in the interview. “So for the last few years, she has been showing him how to do things, and it got to the point where he wanted to kick it up a notch.”

Sam has been learning the sewing trade at a neighborhood shop named the Franklin Mill Store. According to his father, the gifted nine-year-old has so far created cat pajama pants for his brother, some scrunchies, a dress for his relative, a pillowcase, and a shirt.

“I was so impressed and flattered that he wanted to make it for me,” Gouveia said.

“It’s really good. It’s different. It looks very ’70s. It’s almost got a leisure suit lapel. But it fit, and it was my style,” he said of the now-famous navy blue shirt with the intricate floral print and roses.

The young child is seen in the video telling his father how he made the shirt while beaming with pride. His dad puts it on right away and praises his son profusely. He expresses his joy at getting the gift while praising his son’s skill.

“Raising Boys to Be Good Men” and “Men and Miscarriage” are written by Gouveia. He claimed that the evening after receiving the shirt as a gift, he wore it to his father’s birthday supper and had plans to wear it again soon.

The fact that Sam is the only male in the class does not stop him in any way. “He’s the only boy there, but he doesn’t care. That doesn’t stop him. He loves it,” Gouveia said. “[Franklin Mill Store is] such a safe and educational space. We’re grateful to them,” he added.

“He’s only 9, and he’s making these dresses, shirts, pants, pillowcases, scrunchies, and things like that. It’s amazing,” the proud dad added.

Sam has previously gained widespread popularity. His reaction when he was given a sewing machine for his 9th birthday won the hearts of millions of people all over the globe. And earlier in 2018, he also gained notoriety for wearing nail polish. The young child was teased online for it, but strangers came to his defense.

Sam is currently busy at work on his sewing. He’s also working on a blouse for his mother because he doesn’t want her to feel left out, according to Gouveia.

Best of success to the Gouveia family, please! They come across as such wonderful individuals.
