Robert Reed and others helped lay the foundation for the United States. The 60-year-old janitor puts in a lot of effort and tries his hardest to maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor with the kids who attend his school.

For about four months, Robert has been a school cleaner at Farmington Elementary School in Germantown, Tennessee.

The pupils who interact with him daily have grown to like him in that short amount of time. By all accounts, Robert is infamous for his propensity to look for additional work at the school after completing his cleaning responsibilities.

Students at the school were unaware of one fact about Reed, though: He lacked a car.

To get to school on schedule daily, the 60-year-old had to take three buses and walk two miles. He would reverse the route, which typically delayed him until after 8 p.m.

Robert’s difficulties with the commute were known to his colleagues. Some days, they drove him to the bus stop after school, while other days, they gave him cash for meals. Without a truck, the janitor could not launch his dream of starting a yard company to supplement his income.

Coworkers then decided to go even further with their kindness one day. They came together with their hearts and minds to do something special for Robert. They pooled their funds and bought him a new truck following an online fundraiser.

Robert was astounded by the surprise his colleagues had planned, as one might expect. His astonishment caused him to fall to his knees.
