The singer, 62, was conceived in Augusta, Georgia. She learned to play the guitar independently and is the youngest of four sisters.

When her debut self-titled album was published in 1978, it greatly aided in her rise to fame. She left school to focus on her music career and, in 1982, published the well-known album “Age to Age,” which assisted her in reaching new heights in her profession.

She released “Heart in Motion” in 1991 as a genre experiment, shocking some of her more seasoned followers. But she always made sure to include holiday-themed songs and Christmas music.

The singer hit a pothole while riding her bike in July 2022. Before being sent to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, she was knocked from her bike and remained unconscious for 15 minutes. The singer was wearing a helmet at the time, according to a spokesperson for the artist.

The singer admits that she has had problems, particularly with her memory. Grant accompanied her statement, “Honestly, I can’t recall what I don’t remember.” “So, I had dinner with a high school friend the other night. We once stayed the night at one another’s homes. Are you and your husband still together? I asked you in an ashamed tone. It seemed as though I had just learned that Douglas passed away seven years ago when she mentioned it!

While attending the 45th Kennedy Center Honors, Grant discussed her recovery process. “Last week was my first time back on stage, and I can’t think of a gentler way to get back into the limelight than doing a Christmas concert with my great friend Michael W. Smith,” Grant stated.

I felt anxious on my first day. I lost the lyrics to the songs I wrote. Just as before; I’m visiting this place to recover. I’m not exaggerating; I feel filled from head to toe. Love and kindness are also really healing,” she remarked.

He has just been so patient, she said in gratitude for her husband’s support. Vince “sort of has a way of grounding the area that we’re in even without uttering a word,” she continued.

He said, “Hey, every day we wake up a bit different, and we love each other, and it’s good,” to my early question, “What if I’m different? What if I’m not the same?”

I feel like my old rascally self,” she continued.
