Dick van Dyke’s status as one of the most legendary figures in the history of Hollywood has been assured for some time now.
The performer and dancer have been gracing our screens ever since, well, ever since there have been screens. When I was a young child, I loved watching the movie Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang. Those are some of my favorite childhood memories. And don’t even get me started on Dyke’s iconic performance in Mary Poppins; it’s not even worth mentioning.
Even though Dyke appears to possess an almost inhuman ability to remain vibrant and energetic, it is simply false to state that he is not getting on in years. Of course, Father Time has a way of catching up with us all, and even though Dyke appears to possess an almost inhuman ability to remain vibrant and energetic.
It may be difficult to imagine, but Dick van Dyke is currently 96 years old. To put it more simply, if I can look and behave like he did when I was 96, I will know I am doing something very right…
Last Thursday, when Dyke was photographed exiting a restaurant in Malibu, California, he reportedly had a big smile on his face, as reported by the New York Post.
In addition to this, he went out of his way to let others know that he is “just glad to be here still.”
Dyke, whose illustrious career started as far back as the 1940s, was spotted later that day running errands, which included purchasing a self-tanning spray from a local store.
The legendary actor appeared to be dressed casually, wearing a light grey sweater and navy blue pants. According to The Post, he and his wife, Arlene Silver, who is 50 years old, reside in Malibu, and he works out at a gym in the area.
Van Dyke disclosed to Closer Weekly not too long ago that he visits the gym as frequently as three times per week, which is an impressive accomplishment for a man who is getting closer to 100 than 90.
In 2019, he revealed that he had always been an exerciser. He mentioned that he would get in the pool to exercise and that, at his age, people say to keep moving. He also stated that he would start tapping if he were on solid ground.
Van Dyke also praised Silver for being his partner and helping him maintain his youthful look.
He explained that he sometimes forgets that they are in the midst of a great experiment with a 46-year age difference, but they work at it to some extent. According to him, there must be some understanding and finding out what old habits do not work anymore. He added that it takes some adjusting and fitting in, but it is part of the fun of it.
On the other hand, Silver stated that he is the perfect human being she has ever met. She said she had never encountered someone so happy, genuine, and amazing, adding that he is like a happy pill.
For my part, I am overjoyed to learn that Dick van Dyke is still living and doing well after all these years. He is, without a doubt, one of the best performers I have ever seen.
