Shelia Frederick, a flight attendant for Alaska Airlines, was uneasy when a guy and a teenage girl sat down on a flight from Seattle to San Francisco.
While the girl was not well-dressed, the guy was, and she avoided making eye contact with anyone.
Shelia kept thinking about the girl while performing her duties on the aircraft, and she finally devised a brilliant but brave plan. The bravery that allowed this young girl to be rescued from a perilous circumstance.

While serving snacks on board the flight, Shelia desperately tried to establish eye contact with the girl because she couldn’t help herself.
She informed a coworker of her concerns, and the two of them worked to divert the man’s attention while Shelia tried to get the girl’s attention.
In an interview with Good Morning Britain, Shelia said, “She finally looked up, and the look in her eye was heartbreaking, so I excused myself to go to the back, and I just broke down.”
She devised a cunning plan in which she placed a piece of paper and a pencil in one of the plane’s bathrooms before securing it only to unlock the girl.
Shelia mouthed in the bathroom and then mimed writing while her colleague had the man’s focus. She then waited, hoping the youngster got it.
A scrap of paper and a pen were left in the restroom.
Thank goodness the girl asked to use the restroom and left. Shelia refused to leave the area while keeping a careful eye on the man while he remained with her outside the restroom.
“I left a note in one of the bathrooms,” Shelia said. “She wrote back on the note and said, ‘I need help.’”
The pilot was informed by Shelia, who then communicated with ground control to arrange for the man to be arrested upon landing.

The young woman that Shelia rescued from human trafficking remained in contact with her, and the two have spoken on the phone a few times over the years. Even college is being attended by the young lady, according to the Western Journal.
