We hear many stories of dogs being abandoned in hot cars each year. Dogs are especially likely to get heat stroke, but many owners still transport their pets in hot, closed spaces where they could get sick or even die.
In the summer of 2016, a husky dog was found with her mouth taped shut after being left in a hot car outside a casino in Las Vegas. This was one of the most shocking things that ever happened.
But, praise be to God, the dog made it through the trauma, and now, several months later, she is leading the life of her dreams.
On July 20, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a situation in which a husky puppy that was three months old had been left locked in an SUV that was parked in the parking lot of the Bellagio casino.
The poor animal’s mouth had been sealed with electrical tape, and the temperature had reached 113 degrees. It is never a good idea to leave a dog unattended in a car, but you can only imagine how traumatic it must have been for the husky to be left in the car while it was so hot outside. The dog’s life was in serious jeopardy.
According to the police, the owner had been gambling inside for two hours while the dog was trapped outside without any food, water, or air conditioning while the owner was gambling.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department successfully extracted the dog from the car’s sunroof. The department shared footage from one of its body cameras, which showed that an officer found a salivating dog and unable to breathe.
The owner, Raul Carbajal, who is 50 years old, was taken into custody for an animal’s willful and malicious torture.
Even though the case was shocking, the unfortunate animal’s life quickly improved after it was resolved. The Animal Foundation, a rescue group in Las Vegas, announced that it had been adopted a few weeks after the husky was saved. The new owner gave the dog the name “Duchess.”
And the shelter just recently shared another update, which showed that Duchess has been enjoying the best life she’s ever had since being rescued.
“She lives with a wonderful family who adores her,” the Animal Foundation wrote. “She sneaks into the children’s beds and enjoys hanging out with her new fur siblings.”
Duchess’s previous owner was cruel to her and didn’t care about her, but things are very different now that she is with her new family. Duchess has had the chance to see much of the country thanks to her shared experiences throughout Nevada, California, and Arizona.
They say that since she was rescued from that scorching hot car, Duchess has developed a fondness for the chilly weather and never passes up an opportunity to play in the snow.
“Talk about a good life,” the Animal Foundation wrote.
We are overjoyed that the Duchess’s life has taken such a dramatic turn for the better; she was rescued from a terrible circumstance, and she is now living in a genuinely ideal home for her.
I’m glad you love this cute dog as much as she deserves. I beg you to tell everyone about this touching tale!
