Please welcome Valentin Gruener, an animal lover who has struck up an endearing relationship with a lion named Sirga.

They share a truly unique bond. A video of this man and his buddy Sirga reuniting through a tight hug has gone viral on TikTok.

The lion is very gentle and welcoming.

Even though she is very big, Valentin Gruener claims she always keeps a kind and welcoming attitude. However, Gruener is the only one who joins in interacting with her. It would be dangerous for her to be around people she is not used to. It all started ten years ago when Sirga’s mother stopped feeding her, and Gruener, caring for Sirga then, had to raise her by hand.

Even though Sirga has had such a difficult life, she is doing great now and is in excellent health.

Sirga the lioness was born on February 25, 2012, to wild lions captured after being recognized as ‘problem animals’ in livestock areas. These wild lions were held and cared for on the grassland bushman Lodge grounds near Ghanzi in Botswana’s Kalahari Desert. This property is owned by Willie de Graaff, a cattle rancher and wildlife enthusiast. Additionally, she now has a close friend!

Only Sirga, a young pup, survived those first few days.

At first, Sirga’s life was challenging. “Sirga the lioness was born on February 25, 2012, to wild lions captured after being identified as ‘problem animals’ in livestock areas which were held and cared for at the property of Grassland Bushman Lodge grounds, near Ghanzi, in the Kalahari Desert of Botswana, owned by Willie de Graaff, a cattle rancher and wildlife enthusiast.”

Valentin began caring for her because her mother declined to feed her.

They connected almost instantly.

At that time, Sirga started forming the habit of regularly hugging Valentin.

As she got older, their connections became even closer and stronger.

They didn’t know each other ten years ago, but their relationship has grown by leaps and bounds.

These days, Sirga and Valentin hang out at the 2,000-acre reservation created specifically for her.

However, Sirga now possesses her domain, which she rules over. A low incidence of warfare and a high level of tranquility characterizes her domain.

According to Valentin, as of today, she lives in a reserve that has been made aside for her that is 2,000 acres in size and allows her to hunt and live as freely as she can be given her circumstances. Valentin is still a part of her day-to-day life and resides in the middle of the wild in Botswana with Sirga.

They spend most of their time there cuddling, hanging out in the pleasant shade, and exploring Sirga’s domain.

Valentin Grüner says that taking care of Sirga was a big part of what made him who he is today. He’d always had a lot of love for animals, but Sirga made a huge difference in his life. Being responsible for her continues to educate him, on a day-to-day basis, on what it means to be there for the wellbeing of another being truly. As long as he has breath in his body, Valentin will never leave her side and will never stop fighting for the lives of her wild relatives.

A silly obligatory selfie with my closest friend.

They are BFFs

For him, the secret to caring for such a strong, big, and wild animal is “a lot of love and time. My girlfriend also helps a lot with all the other animals. But in the past 12 years, I haven’t had a holiday yet – no regrets, though.”
