Following the terrible loss of the couple’s two-year-old daughter at their South Tampa home this weekend, Jordanna Barrett, Shaquil Barrett’s wife, has released a sorrowful message.
A little boy was reported to have fallen into a pool on Sunday, April 30, according to heartbreaking accounts, and Tampa police officers were called to the scene shortly after 9:30am local time.
Arrayah, the two-year-old daughter of the Barretts, was brought to the hospital where life-saving procedures were applied, but she tragically passed away that same day.
Jordanna, the wife of Shaquil, a linebacker who plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, turned to the internet to make a statement while thousands of people offered words of comfort.

Jordanna posted the following along with a photo of her daughter’s recent second birthday celebration:
“Our world will never be the same. Arrayah was the apple of my eye, and my heart will forever be with hers.”
“I love you so much, my baby. I am so sorry. Until we see each other again, please watch over your siblings and momma and dada. We love you forever and ever and always.”
“I can’t wait to see that precious smile again, and just hug you so close. I would do absolutely anything. There is no Barrett 6 without you, and we will forever hold your place down here until we all meet again in heaven. I love you forever and always.”
Jordanna included a link to her daughter’s obituary. It stated:
“Arrayah’s smile brought so much joy to anyone who encountered her.”
In addition to the many other tributes that flooded the internet, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also posted a message, writing:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Shaq, Jordanna, and the entire Barrett family during this unimaginably difficult time.
“While no words can provide true comfort at a time such as this, we offer our support and love as they begin to process this very profound loss of their beloved Arrayah.”
The youngest of Shaquil and Jordanna’s four children, according to accounts, was Arrayah.
During his eight-year career, Shaquil Barrett, 30, has twice made the Pro Bowl.
