The long-awaited DNA test findings have been delivered to the 21-year-old who made international headlines earlier this year by asserting that she was British Madeleine McCann, who had vanished.
The theory that Julia Wendell, also known as Julia Faustyna or Julia Wandelt, is McCann, a young girl who mysteriously disappeared from a Portuguese vacation resort in 2007, went viral in February.
Wendell made the “Help me, I need to talk with Kate and Gerry McCann” Instagram account with the handle “iammadeleinemccan” and provided “evidence” to back up her claim, such as side-by-side comparisons of the physical traits she has in common with Madeleine.
The native of Poland was eventually compelled to leave her country after receiving death threats due to the attention her pleading received. Still, she has consistently insisted that she is not intentionally lying.
After a thorough facial recognition test was conducted last month to see if the 21-year-old’s claim might be true, a significant shadow of doubt was cast over it.
Ava-X fed images of Wendell and McCann into its Iris face recognition program, according to Sky. What happened? The young lady’s Madeleine, who has gone missing, was deemed “practically impossible” by the program.
The system successfully matched Wendell’s childhood and adult pictures but failed to do so with Madeleine’s, according to the company’s co-founder Christian Fehrlin.
“When we did the same with Maddie’s picture, no match could be found,” Fehrlin told Swiss newspaper Blick.
The teenager’s family, who thinks she is Madeleine McCann, has issued a shocking statement in which they claim they are “.
Published by Daily Record on February 23, 2023.
While this happened, the young woman’s relatives vehemently refuted her claims.
“For us, as a family, it is obvious that Julia is our daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, and step-niece,” the family said in a statement.
“We have memories; we have pictures. Julia also has these photos because she took them from the family home with the birth certificate and numerous hospital discharges.”
Wendell has been working tirelessly to find a solution, and she recently appeared on the talk program Dr. Phil to raise more awareness for her situation.
She had to move to the US after being compelled to leave Poland for her protection, where, according to reports, she underwent a DNA test to establish her ties to the McCann family.
But now that the findings have come in, it is clear that she is not Madeleine and is Polish with some Lithuanian and Romanian ancestry.
Speaking to RadarOnline, Dr. Fia Johansson said: “She is absolutely 100 percent from Poland. She is a small percentage of Lithuanian and Russian, but the test results show she is Polish.”
Dr. Johansson, who was granted power of attorney over Julia, stated her “gut feeling” before the test findings were that her client wasn’t Madeleine.
“We learned a few things, one being that Julia’s mum is now believed to be her mum, so she is not Madeleine McCann,” Dr. Johansson said.
“They’re not 100%, but they believe that Julia’s mum is her mum. They’re questioning her father’s side. They’re checking into that; that’s part of what they’re doing with the DNA.”
“But Julia’s mum is, her mum, what they’re believing, and she is not Madeleine McCann.”

UK sources claim that the ongoing hunt for Madeleine will receive a new financial boost worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.
A source close to the investigation said: “This is excellent news. Maddie’s parents, Kate and Gerry, will be delighted. It gives fresh hope.”
