By kneeling during the national anthem in 2016, Colin Kaepernick became renowned for bringing attention to the struggles faced by African-Americans in the United States faced. He was subjected to a great deal of criticism for doing so, and as a direct result, he was ultimately fired from his position as an NFL player.

He has garnered more support due to the events that have transpired this year; however, the reality that he had to suffer for his conviction is not at all right.

There is, without a doubt, a heated argument going on right now about the playing of the national anthem at sporting events and whether or not this should be the case. In recent years, some high-profile figures have followed Kaepernick’s lead in crouching while playing the national anthem, even though some people view this as a sign of disrespect.

I believe that individuals should have the freedom to choose whatever they want. After all, respecting one’s country’s flag and national anthem is incredibly significant to some people.

Granbury, Texas, features at least one high school football team that believes they are the best. The Granbury Pirates were not pleased in the least that their high school band could not perform before a game.

They were moved to the point where they decided to sing the national anthem, a capella together as a group. The group stood to their feet, put their palms together over their chests, and began singing the national anthem with great passion and pride.

Although I believe that everyone should have the right to choose for themselves whether or not they wish to sing and stand for the national anthem, we can all agree that the video that was just displayed is truly remarkable.

If you believe the flag and anthem should be respected, please share this information on Facebook.

I can’t speak for you, but whenever I hear a performance like that, it inspires me with immense satisfaction.
