To support her crippled husband, Abbie worked as a sanitation worker. One day, she was astonished to discover an abandoned pram near the garbage cans. She opened the door and was shocked to see two infant girls resting inside.
When Abbie was up and moving around, the streets were still dark, and the early-morning runners had not yet started their daily workout. She changed Steven, her hurt husband, dressing while washing her face and making a cup of coffee for herself.
Abbie downed it in three swift gulps, changed into her uniform, and headed to work. As she frequently did, she had already cooked Steven breakfast and had written him a message on the refrigerator.

She got out of her truck, filled the bins with trash, and gathered it all up at the first landfill of the day. She loaded them into her car and was ready to drive off when she saw a pram in the middle of the road.
She approached the pram because she was curious as to why it was laying there with no one nearby. She was astonished to see twin newborn girls sleeping inside when she peered inside, causing her to leap back.
“Jesus! Who would leave their children out here like this?” she wondered.
When Abbie turned to look, she couldn’t see anyone. When she knocked on a few close ones, no one answered the door to ask whether they knew anyone with twin newborn girls.
Finally, Abbie called the police and contacted CPS, who took custody of the children.
Miracles can happen, and love is much more powerful than hatred.
“You didn’t find anything on the girls, ma’am? No information, no ID, nothing?” Officer Barton asked her.
“I didn’t,” she admitted. “But how can someone just leave such beautiful babies like that?”

The officer smirked. “You have no idea how many cases we receive of parents abandoning their children. I mean, it’s insane. Why have them if you can’t take care of them? Anyway, ma’am, thank you for your cooperation. We’ll let you know if we come across anything.”
“Thank you very much, officer,” Abbie said as she left.
She had such a bad feeling about the females that evening at home. They were genuinely left behind. What if they had experienced something terrible? If their parents had problems, what would happen? How would they feel if their parents were never discovered? If Steven adopted them, would he agree?
Even though Abbie knew that she shouldn’t have been so gloomy as to think the girls’ parents would never be discovered, she still harbored a desire for the kids. She and Steven were unable to create children. Therefore, the girls needed a caring home.
“What do you think, honey?” she asked her husband over dinner. “Would you take them in?”

“It’s too early to think about that, hun,” he said. “I mean, I don’t want you to feel let down. What if you want them, but their parents appear unexpectedly? I know how difficult your fertility journey has been.”
“I know…” Abbie said quietly. “But I… I want to bring them home… and I’m ready to wait.”
Time passed quickly, and no information regarding the twins’ parents was available. Steven and Abbie were both prepared to adopt the kids. He was relieved that they would eventually find relief from the misery of being childless, but the couple was also in for more bad news.
“Because you have foster parent certification, the process goes more smoothly,” the social worker explained. “However, we would still need to run a background check and everything, but the girls.”
“What’s wrong with the girls?” asked Abbie, worried. “Are they alright?”

“Yes, yes, they’re fine,” the worker said. “The problem is, the girls… they’re deaf.”
“What?” gasped Abbie, clutching Steven’s hand. “They are deaf?”
“Yes, they are,” continued the worker. “Whoever abandoned them… mostly didn’t want disabled children. We deal with numerous such cases daily. Sad. I’m curious if you’re still set on taking them in. Look, most couples don’t want an abnormal child.”
“NO!” Abbie yelled, jumping to her feet. “Who said we were going to change our minds? I’d do anything to bring them home. Poor babies! How could anyone just…”
Before she could finish, Abbie broke down in tears in Steven’s arms, feeling so bad for the small girls. She felt bad for the abandoned people, and happily, they were allowed to care for the daughters.
Life was altered for Steven and Abbie by the twins. The pair couldn’t have been happier as their happy cries and laughing filled the entire house.

Abbie started working numerous jobs to provide for them, and everything was ideal. Their way of living was ideal.
Six months later, Hannah and Daina completed the picture of Steven and Abbie’s lives. Then one day, something strange transpired.
After 12 years
While eating lunch with the girls, Abbie and Steven got a call from a woman named Bethany. At this moment, Abbie and Steven were both employed by respectable firms.
“Hello, I’m hoping this is the contact for Hannah and Diana’s mom?”
“Yes, it is… how may I help?” replied Abbie.
“Wonderful. Hello, Mrs. Lester, this is Bethany calling to inform you…”
Abbie almost dropped the phone when she heard what Bethany had to say.
“Are you serious?” asked Abbie. “My girls did that? Did they? Oh, Yes. Thank you, yeah, sure!”

Hannah and Diana were allowed to collaborate with a children’s clothing line for disadvantaged children for $530K. Hannah and Diana have been drawing models and clothes expertly since elementary school.
The girls’ art instructor was thrilled with their talent and gave Bethany’s friend a recommendation for them.
Abbie cried as she hung up the phone, hugging her daughters. She and Steven were so happy and proud of Hanna and Dianna.
In sign language, she told them, “Mommy and Daddy love you, girls, the most. You are the most brilliant stars in our universe. You girls have made us proud today.” Then she told the girls about their accomplishments.
The family laughed, wept, and purchased a massive cake to mark the event. Hannah and Diana decided to take the chance and launch their own business rather than enroll in college, and they are now succeeding tremendously.
Since Abbie and Steven loved and supported their daughters from the beginning of their relationship, they now have everything. At one point, they didn’t even have separate beds for their daughters. All of their desires were satisfied.
