We must protect our dogs from the icy weather when the temperature begins to fall. Some people are under the impression that dogs are immune to the effects of cold weather in the same way humans are.
However, some will go to any length to ensure animals’ safety during extreme weather. A curious observer took images of a dog owner providing loving care for her pet and uploaded them to Facebook. The photos are sure to touch the hearts of dog lovers worldwide.
The previous month in Cambridge, Massachusetts, there was a windy and cold day. In Harvard Square, a lady named Kristina Hollie was talking with a colleague as they waited for the bus.
During her time waiting, she saw a lady who was out walking her dog. The stranger tied the dog to a tree by tying it to the stump so the woman could quickly enter the post office.
The dog, on the other hand, was visibly shaking due to the cold weather. Consequently, the owner did something that can only be considered very thoughtful: she gave the dog her jacket.
“She immediately took off her jacket and covered the dog as he sat,” Kristina told The Dodo. “Maybe she thought he would kick it off, so she bent down and zipped it up around him!”
Kristina could not allow the kind act to go unnoticed and showed her appreciation to the lady who looked after her dog:
“She just replied, ‘Thank you! I don’t want him to be cold!'”
Kristina uploaded the photos to the Dog potting group on Facebook, where they were met with the praise of many thousands of people.
As Kristina took the bus, the dog was still waiting for his owner outside, but she saw that he was relaxed and content despite the cold weather.
“I saw two,” or three other people walk past him and comment that he looked very cute and warm,” she told The”Dodo.
We have no reason to doubt that the lady would bring her cherished friend inside if she could do so; yet, the loving gesture she performed to guarantee that he would be warm has moved us deeply. Even though she would only be gone for a short time, she took precautions to ensure that her dog was as comfortable as possible until she returned.
We are grateful to this lady for watching over her dog and keeping him warm despite the cold weather.
