Sibling love is incredibly unconditional, arguably making it the most lovely.
As siblings and sisters, we frequently argue, slander, and aggravate one another to the breaking point. Your brothers, however, are the ones who stick by your side through thick and thin.
I am fortunate to have both sisters and siblings, and I have a very unique and close relationship with each of them. Simply put, no matter how I feel or how friendly we are toward one another, I wouldn’t do anything to assist them if they needed me.
That’s undoubtedly why this particular story touched me on a deep level. It is about Chris Garafola, a Vermont native, and his elder sister Brittany, who is disabled.
Chris Garafola reportedly thought his upbringing was very lucky. He was born into a loving family and benefitted from an older sister with whom he formed a close-knit bond.
The brothers were inseparable as children despite being two years apart in age. According to Chris, he and Brittany were a “package deal,” and he never missed a chance to express his love for her.
Chris described Brittany in a heartfelt Instagram message: “Always poured her love onto him, challenged him, and taught him timeless lessons giving him countless opportunities to grow (quickly) as a man, and become the best BROTHER he could possibly be.”
Due to her Down syndrome, Brittany experienced unique difficulties throughout her existence. But with her younger sibling Chris by her side, every challenge she overcame was made simpler.
Tatiana and Chris agreed that they would postpone their nuptials until Brittany could attend and witness their union. There was just one small issue: Brittany had to get her COVID-19 injection before going anywhere with other people because her condition made her immune system vulnerable.
Brittany received her immunization in February 2021, which allowed Chris and Tatiana to start planning their wedding.
Late in March of the same year, Chris, a male model, uploaded a video to his YouTube channel in which Tatiana was seen speaking with Brittany on FaceTime.
Brittany was stunned to learn that her younger sibling was engaged, but what Tatiana asked her next left her speechless.
“And you know what I wanted to ask you? Can you be my maid of honor?” Tatiana can be seen asking in the video.
Yes, I can, Brittany replied as she sobbed with joy.
As a result, Chris and Tatiana were married in April 2021, with Brittany serving as the lady of honor and watching from a distance.
The newlyweds then disclosed that they had given Brittany an unusual band as a surprise to commemorate the special day.
“She’s been my best friend since day one, and even once I’m married, it won’t change,” Chris said.
Of course, Chris, Tatiana, and Brittany’s pictures quickly became popular online. The sheer quantity of love captured in the images can soften even the hardest of hearts.
Chris and Brittany’s affection for one another as siblings are contagious. Just darling!
